A. In the event of a power outage, the phone
will draw its power from the phone line to operate as a regular
non-amplified phone. This added feature allows you to receive
and make calls when there is a power failure.

A. Yes, the XL-40 will work with these assistive

A. The patch cord works in conjunction with the
client's speech processor for volume control as all patch cords
do.

Does the patch cord protect the speech processor and cochlea implant
client from power surges received through electrical lines from
the amplified phone AC adapter?
A. The patch cord is engineered with isolation
protection which, prevents any power surges from damaging the
cochlea implant users speech processor or implant.

Why does the patch cord have two different end plugs, one is mono,
the other stereo?
A. The mono jack (one line) goes into the speech
processor, the stereo jack (two lines) goes into the amplified
phone. The two different end plugs are a standard product design.

When I have the Amplify setting on "Manual" and hang
up, why when I pick up the handset is the phone still amplified?
A. When you hang up a call while on "Manual"
the Amplify volume will remain in the last setting for a few seconds
before resetting back to "Normal." Allow at least ten
seconds before picking up the handset again.

Why does the AC Adapter cord fall out of the jack after I plug
it in?
A. When you plug the AC Adapter into the jack,
make sure it snaps firmly into the jack port.

If I have no dial tone, what do I do?
A. Press the "Flash" button, not the
hook switch.

I am not able to program into memory, what am I doing wrong?
A. Be sure when you press the "Prog"
button, that you press down firmly and in the middle of the button
to insure it is in "Program" mode.

How do I make calls using my Calling Card numbers or bank numbers
from the keypad and memory buttons?
A. When placing calls requiring a Calling Card
number (example: 10-10-321) program the Calling Card number into
a memory location. To call out, press the Calling Card memory
location , then dial the number or use another number in memory.
The same process is used with long bank account numbers, or extensions
that are dialed along with the phone numbers.
