Tunstall
Telecom units form intelligent centers at the heart of the
home to help all kinds of people both young and old live independently.
Contemporary
styling and revolutionary technology are brought together
to deliver exceptional levels of flexibility and performance.
-
The
Telecom 400 is designed to protect people living in their
homes, apartments, condominiums or retirement residences.
-
Equipped
with an Amie personal radio trigger, the Telecom 400 can
be used to raise an alarm call from anywhere in the home
by simply pressing the radio trigger, or by pressing the
large illuminated red button on the unit.
- Emergency
calls can be sent to a dedicated 24-hour monitoring center;
to staff carrying either pocket pagers or wireless telephones
in a retirement residence; or to family members or friends.
The
Telecom 400 can also provide additional peace of mind and
reassurance by monitoring a wide range of events through the
use of one hard-wired input and up to 4 radio sensor devices.
These
include:
- Fall
Detectors
- Smoke
Alarms
- Carbon
Monoxide
- Temperature
- Flood
Detectors.
Through
the use of PIR's, the Telecom 400 can also provide 24-hour
inactivity monitoring for a greater level of personal reassurance.
How
does it work?
When
the Telecom 400 is activated from a private home to a professional
monitoring center, the call details are displayed on a computer
screen at the 24-hour monitoring center, showing the type
of call and how the call was initiated.
Because
the Telecom 400 has a powerful loudspeaker and sensitive microphone,
hands free two-way speech automatically occurs between the
caller and the response center operator.
In
a retirement residence calls are automatically routed to staff
carrying wireless telephones or pages that can display the
room number and the alarm type, i.e., bathroom, bedside, etc.
When wireless telephones are used, instant voice communication
is established between the caller and the staff.
Call
flexibility
- The Telecom 400 can store up to 6 different telephone numbers
to call when an alarm is raised. It can call professional
monitoring centers, or friends, relatives and neighbours on
ordinary telephones. One of the greatest benefits of the Telecom
400 is that who it calls, and the order in which it tries
these telephone numbers, depends upon the type of alarm that
has been raised.
Who
is it for?
The
Telecom 400 provides numerous benefits for:
- Elderly,
infirm or disabled people.
- Individuals
who have been discharged from hospital and require additional
support and assistance at home.
- People
subject to domestic violence or racial harassment.
- Those
living in high crime areas.
- People
of any age living alone.
- Small
businesses where individuals are at risk through the handling
of valuable goods or money.
- Allow
residents to summon help using a waterproof, wireless pendant
from anywhere in their suites, as well as detect accidents
involving falls.
- Allow
emergency calls to be placed to pocket pagers, cellular
or wireless telephones, telephone PBX, professional monitoring
centers, or relatives, friends, etc.
- Detect
wanderers attempting to leave the facility when attached
to a wanderer monitoring system.
- Locate
and provide protection for staff members in the facility
using wireless pendants.
- Provide
hands-free operation both during an emergency call, and
for responding to regular telephone calls, thereby reducing
the risk of falls.
- Provide
audio and visual aids for the visually and hearing impaired
for example to alert an incoming call.
- Detect
and monitor activity in the resident's suite. It can raise
an alarm when the resident has been inactive for a pre-set
time period each day.
- Raise
an alarm when a fire or carbon monoxide is detected in a
resident's suite.
- Monitor
and report on temperature fluctuations, such as refrigerator
compressor failures, etc.
- Provide
an outreach program for seniors in the community.
- Provide
a full payback solution for retirement home owners by using
a telephone PBX switch.
